Exhibition Sylvie Samy & Gérard Tivert‑Gillemann
A Meeting of Painting and Sculpture
The ArtZone Art Gallery in Montrond-les-Bains is hosting an exhibition from April 2 to April 30, bringing together the pictorial world of Sylvie Samy and the sculptures of Gérard Tivert‑Gillemann. Two distinctive artistic approaches that resonate with one another through material, emptiness, presence, and emotion.
Sylvie Samy — Painting
A visual artist based in Lyon, Sylvie Samy explores a range of techniques and develops work in which painting (particularly oil painting) enters into dialogue with writing. Trained in art restoration, she founded L’Atelier des Ombres, a space dedicated to creation and teaching. Her approach engages with color, the balance between full and empty space, and an inner form of storytelling—open to each viewer’s interpretation.

Gérard Tivert‑Gillemann — Sculpture
A self-taught sculptor, Gérard Tivert‑Gillemann creates powerful figurative works centered on human fragility and everyday scenes. According to Le Progrès, his sculptures are built from metal frameworks covered with materials such as plaster and adhesive cement. He often accompanies his pieces with short poetic texts that offer a reading guide, while the postures—frequently leaning, off-balance—convey tension and emotion.
