About Me

Sylvie Perrin was born in Lyon, France, where she currently lives. From the age of six, she expressed her desire to become a painter and never later considered a “plan B” for her studies.

A few years later, after graduating from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, she began her career as a plasticine illustrator for advertising, the press, and publishing, working between Paris and the Netherlands, where she lived for six years.

During those years, she expressed her creativity through modeling, painting, drawing, graphic design, and design. She also worked in New York as an art director on a television show for the BET network, The Fabulous Reggae Dogs.

Alongside her professional activity, she never stopped creating collages from posters and magazines for her own pleasure. Wanting to develop this more personal artistic expression, for the past few years she has been making collages by collecting advertising or event posters from the walls of the city of Lyon.

She now exhibits her work in galleries in France, the United States, and the Netherlands, as well as online. In reference to her original work as an illustrator, and to avoid confusion linked to her very common surname, she signs her works Sylvie Perrin Queenofclay.
